"Kavim" Public Transportation Ltd. was set up in 2000 in order to compete and participate in the operation of public transportation services/
Kavim" won the tender of the Israeli Ministry of Transportation for the operation of public transportation lines, from the Bik'at Ono area to Tel Aviv, Petach Tikva, and Tel Hashomer, the tender for the operation of the cluster of lines in Afula, Bet She'an, Nazareth, Migdal Ha'emek and the surrounding settlements, and the tender for the operation of the Petach Tikva and Rosh Ha'ayin cluster of lines, including transportation services for schoolchildren.  "Kavim" intends on continuing its participation in future tenders for the privatization of public transportation
lines in the State of Israel.
The shareholders of "Kavim" are as follows:
 Mayer's Cars and Trucks Ltd. - the importers of Volvo, Hondo, Volvo buses, and Volvo, Renault and Mitsubishi trucks.
Mayer's Cars and Trucks is the controlling shareholder of Hertz Rent-a-Car, "Merkavim" and other companies.
Horn and Leibowitz Ltd. - the largest tourism and special transportation company in Israel.
The Company owns a number of hotels and a shopping mall in Afula.
Nazareth Transport and Tourism Ltd. - has been operating public transportation lines for some 70 years and operates in Nazareth, Safed, Nahariya, and Hadera. In addition, the Company deals with tourism and special transportation.  "Kavim" operates 100 buses in the Bik'at Ono cluster, 45 buses in the Afula and Ha'emek cluster, and 150- buses in the Petach Tikva and Rosh Ha'ayin cluster.
Most of the fleet is comprised of modern buses manufactured by Vovlo, assembled in the Merkavim plant in Caesariya.
The buses are state of the art from a technological standpoint, air-conditioned and luxurious.
The buses meet all of the most advanced standards and requirements, both from the standpoint of passenger and driver comfort and the standpoint of environmental quality. Kavim employs 400 drivers.
Kavim's drivers are experienced professionals who undergo extensive professional training.
